Several people have mentioned they are planning or mid making their Hal homages, I am getting excited to see them all!
the winner is receiving a unique Damien signature, mind boggling to think how sought after that might become when Damo gets even more famous..but I think I am more excited about the photobook made from the entries. We all talk, a lot, about how much we appreciate Hal and how much we miss Hal and Being Human, this is just such a lovely way to make a permanent record of that, I think.
I agree Domino. I can't wait to see the pretty book all done up.

I think I'm happy with my Homage now. But I'm going to wait till Friday for the photo. You'll laugh but I just remembered I have a hair appt that day. Might as well look decent... LOL

I have my homage all ready as well. I just need to get the photo done. It requires a bit of an assistance...I already told my sister that she needs to aid me. ;) I'm pretty excited about it.
whimsy: Aww, I am sure you'd look lovely either way!
When I go to the the hairdresser, if I'm lucky I only need a day or two, at worst a couple of weeks for it to grow back out a bit, then I'm happy for people to see it. Glad you've got a good hairdresser, whimsy!

I do admit to having waited until I'm happy with my hair before I take this picture, although knowing me I'll now have zero face or hair in shot...but he'll know that I did myself up for him! hahaha
ritz and Hermyownee, you've both been busy! Excited to see your homages when you photograph them
Whimsy, you can always not have your hair in the photo as per my example, but I guess a new haircut deserves its moment in the spotlight!
UJ a good hairdresser is one of life's important requirements, unless like me you sometimes cut it yourself. I have never found a hair dresser brave enough to do the things I want to my hair! ( hope you are entering the comp too btw )
I love that this has turned into a hairdressing thread. lol!
I'm back from hols now, so will hopefully have some time and space to think about this....although, worryingly, as yet I'm totally lacking inspiration. Oh well - I've still got wo weeks to find it.
domino - without wishing to sound too.....hal-ish (!) is there a cut off point? Do we have until midnight on sat 15th Sept? I may well need every last second....
Thanks for your entry Kat, it's epic! As you know, as a mod you can't enter the comp but mods will have a page in the photobook along with the other entrants.
Pearl, feel free to pick our brains for inspiration! or ask yourself the question: what inspires me about Hal? How can I express my gratitude for Hal? what quote / poem /song lyric reminds me of an aspect of Hal that inspired me the most?
I felt obliged to go for the Halku and scoured for quotes that I can use within it. I got that bit done quite quickly, it was getting round to taking the picture that took the time...
Good God, guys. Each one is absolutely fantastic! I'm hoping to have my photo in by Tuesday the latest. I know what I want to do, it's all up in my noggin, but it's finally executing it. My hours at work have been so crazy and I really don't feel like being in scrubs in the photo (especially after a full day. Bleh!) I'm very excited to see more entries. I'm loving it all.

your HAL-ku is inspired Kat! I think you just made a very important point - the block to creating something is often over thinking it, one writing method in creative writing courses is just to put pen to paper and write.. forget about the thinking just write without self-judgement and something always emerges!
Look forward seeing yours hermyownee! I know what you mean about not wanting to be in your scrubs for your homage photo, but when i saw your blood donation pic i thought how amazing if someone were to hold their homage after the blood donation and the homage was related to that somehow...
Ta. I used a website to work out the syllables which made it a bit easier to be able move stuff around. The first stanza was the hardest - all combinations of Good Hal routine got me to either 13 or 19 syllables, was a nightmare, lol!
I am really very uncreative normally so I would encourage everyone to just plonk something down and it will come! All of us who have entered so far have done something different, so anything goes!
Gave myself some time and space...and came up with something - it was a bit....surprising - not what I was expecting - but it was something. Couldn't sleep last night, and got up at 3am....and wrote something else! Then, while trying to decide which one to use.....another one came to me in the car this afternoon. Not quite the problem I expected to have, and I'm not really in love with any of them, but I'm a bit scared to think about it anymore! (who knew that I'd be so inspired by Hal....lol!!!)
I'm really struggling!! Aaaarrrrggghhh!! Have an idea but its a bit clunky, daren't read any of your entries because they'll be so good it will put me off all together lol. I won't give up tho, it won't win me the gorgeous prize but if a certain hot Irish God gets to see it, it will be worth it!!!
Wish me luck
Lisa
