great job hermyownee, lovely words and marigolds are an inspired touch!
thank you to everyone who has posted their entries so far, I am getting really excited not only for the winner, whomever that will be, but for our photobook for Damien, it is going to be A MAZ ING!
wow fifi, it sounds like your homage cup is positively brimming over! maybe do them all, pick a fave and then share the others with us after? it would be a shame to waste those nuggets of creativity! censoring yourself seems counterproductive, I say let it all out.
Lisa, happy to hear you are also creating a homage, maybe if you just begin putting the words down the ideas will start to crystalise and it will just flow?
just over 10 days to get your homages done and posted Molonians, let's do this!
just a reminder that not only will one lucky entrant win a mind blowingly fab prize, but all entries will have their own page in a shiny photobook for Damien... an amazing thing for us fans to be part of and I would hate anyone to miss out!
here are 10 handy hints again:
10 Competition Tips!
#1 You need to be holding your 'Homage to Hal' on your piece of paper in your pic, but for those concerned about posting their photo, your face does NOT need to be in it! just a hand will do!
#2 Your written 'Homage to Hal' can be just one word, a quote, poem, haiku, lyric..(max 200 words) sometimes the most simple is the most powerful!
#3 Your homage can be written any way you like, typed, handwritten, or any writing medium, as long as it is clearly readable and your forum name is visible
#4 you don't need to be a 'good writer', OR write lots! entries will be judged on most moving, most heartfelt, has the most impact, most creative
#5 The competition is open internationally, the DVD can be played on any region-free player or by using VLC (happy to give info)
#6 This is your chance to show how Hal inspired you and say a 'thank you' to Damien and Being Human! :)
#7 this is your chance to win a very cool and totally unique thing personalised by Damien himself
#8 All entries will be seen by Damien, each will have their own page on a professionally made photobook, to be sent to him after the competition - don't miss out!
#9 Maybe try out a few and see which you like best then post it on the fan wall
Well - I've made my decision. Haven't actually written it up yet, because I totally distracted myself by self indulgently rewriting what was left over, adding to it and making it into one piece - it's not really suitable as an entry anymore, and I didn't expect to share it.....but I might.....
squeeeee! so excited to see more competition entries coming in, well done everyone!
I know this is a breathtakingly epic prize BUT.... I sooo want all Damien fans to have their own page in the photobook for Damien...and everyone who enters gets one!
well...I've posted it. I changed my mind again and posted the one I wasn't going to (lol - so decisive). I must admit it's not the full version....and I've kind of destroyed it's Hal pleasing symmetry - hopefully I haven't totally destroyed it and I made the right decision. I will definately post my other creation when the comp. has finished.
Fifi it's incredible!!! This is the "destroyed" one?!?!
I'm starting to re-think mine a bit. It started getting less Homage-y more quote-y. Will have to take a few things out I think.

I have two things in my picture. What I wrote took up three taped together pieces of paper (less than 200 words, just big writing) and I made another item. They're all in the same picture, but holding the three pieces of paper, the other item, and taking the picture was pretty impossible. So in the picture, the pieces of paper are laid out on the floor and next to them is my hand holding the other item, so a part of my body is in the picture. Is that acceptable?
Hi sam thanks for coming over to the forum from twitter to ask this question! it is kind of hard to visualise what you mean, but i would say we are trying to be pretty flexible on the interpretation of the rules, but if not holding then atleast touching your written homage, and it being the main feature of your photo as that is the highlight of the competition. would you be able to ask someone to take a photo for you so you can hold both?
Also just to remind everyone that the photobook is A4 portrait size pages, as in a normal letter size page in an uprght position!
