I think the actress from Corrie (Natalie) has much potential, i think she could be one to watch and I think Rachel Riley could improve under Pasha's tutelage.
James has his work cut out with Vanessa and i think Susannah may be a dark horse with new boy Kevin.
I like the look of both the rugby player and the Hollyoaks actor. And i so want Dave from Hairy Bikers to do well simply because i just adore him.
Last weekend of the month, we'll begin to find out! :)
And i think Julien MacDonald's enthusiasm and voice is quickly going to grate on me.
I just love the whole glitz and feelgood vibe of the show! the talent and athleticism of the dancers is magnetic to watch, as well as the progress of the amateurs.
I love Dave the hairy biker! bless him he looks most like the one with 2 left feet so I'd love to see him surprise everyone.
It's going to take a bit of getting used to the new professional dancers. but by the looks of the new male ones that is going to be very easy.
I've recorded the launch show to watch when I get home although now I know all the couples, it'll be a fast run-through probably.
I think it's probably going to be between Sophie Ellis-Bextor and the guy from Hollyoaks as my first guess, but I'd love it if one of the older, less obvious types makes it to the final.
I feel for the female professionals who all vie for the fit hotty and end up with the rhythmless plodder! I'm just willing them to keep smiling when inside they must be going "Noooooooooooooooo!"
Dave was having a blast and it showed! It was hilarious and Craig's reaction afterwards was a hoot!
I was right about Natalie and Artem, I think they are the ones to watch. Rachel Riley has real potential and I think Pasha is the right professional for her, he's such a good and patient tutor so I hope they progress well. Mark Benton really surprised me as did Abbey Clancy, she's surprisingly graceful for a clothes hanger isn't she? (Okay, I'll be nice from now on but she really needs to eat a pie or two)
The first one to go? Either Tony Jacklin or Julien McDonald.
Strictly was fabulous last night dahhhhling! Sophie Ellis Becker got straight 9 s from all the judges! I thought they were all amazing, even the ones who were hard to watch last week had made slight improvements. Rachel Riley was a bit hard to watch for me last night bless her, but I'm rooting for her to do well. The front runners are obvious already really aren't they. But I was most surprised by Anton and the bond lady, apart from the mistake later on they were stunning to watch!
Sophie and Brendan's Charleston was sensational, dance of the night for me! But i also really enjoyed Ashley and Ola's American Smooth, that suited him down to the ground, and given the huge week he's had, he did brilliantly. I hadn't heard of him before Strictly but i think like Tom Chambers, he's going to do well, he just has that vibe. And Natalie and Artem are going to go all the way, she's very, very good.
I'm slowly warming to Mark and Iveta, Dave made me smile and i found myself enjoying Vanessa and James's waltz too but i thought while Rachel enjoyed her salsa i think it was, she was rather un-coordinated and slightly manic. I think Pasha still has a lot of work to do.
My bottom two this week were Tony (his Charleston was forced and painful to watch in places) and Julien (no upper frame, or proper Tango posture, his bum either stuck out or he was bent over Jeanette or both at once- but i loved his outfit, so him!) I think Tony will possibly be eliminated.
I enjoyed it last night and agree with you Ruby. I do hope that Tony goes tonight - he might be a good golfing but that doesn't make him a good or even passable dancer!
Still haven't had chance to watch yesterday's SCD, but from tonight's dance off, Tony was right to go; he suffered from having a very hard dance week 2 though. I suspect if he'd had something slightly more suited to a man of his age, he may have stayed in.
I thought Natalie and Artem's rhumba was sensational. It's my least favourite dance, i think when it's done right then it can be gorgeous but when it's not done right then it's embarrassing and awkward but this was just amazing. Previously my favourite rhumba was a few years back when Rachel Stevens and Vincent did it and this was better. It was my favourite dance of the night and the one that i voted for (yay for online voting and i'm still registered with the BBC thanks to my Being Human blogger days)
I also really enjoyed Ashley and Ola's samba. I said this via Twitter but i do think Ashley has a Tom Chambers vibe about him and i think he'll go far. Sophie could've shown a bit more oomph and while Rachel has improved slightly, she's still a little bit uncoordinated. I still think Pasha is the best one to help her to improve. I also have a massive soft spot for Susanna, she has such a great relationship with Kevin, i'm warming to them more each week (and she looks like and reminds me so much of my sister in law that it's mildly unsettling. Even my OH agrees!)
Dave's paso was an absolute hoot, the most anticipated dance of the night i think, i laughed and laughed.
My two predictions for the dance off? Julien and Vaness with Julien to go home.
I've been watching this purely for the eye candy & maybe some of the moves! Ashley Taylor Dawson & Ben Cohen PHWOAR! & the two camp panel judges have me in stiches!
Julien was scored far too highly, i agree with you there, what was Len thinking? He just didn't have the jive vibe, the snap and energy, he just looked like he couldn't be bothered, which was also the attitude i got with Sophie. Maybe she was going more for 'cool' but the samba is a party dance and she just didn't engage with me, not like last week.
I also think Abbey looked distinctly average last night too. What is it with that girl, she has the attention span of a goldfish on the VT's. She was more concerned about how she looked, how she was perceived and how her hair looked. Stop fiddling girl and concentrate on the dancing!
I think a lot of people thought Rachel would be a contender and at the moment she isn't quite there for me. She hasn't got much self confidence so i think after having two more talented partners in the past, Pasha has his work cut out here i think. I love Susanna (she also looks a lot like my husband's sister, even he's commented on the resemblance and they have similar personalities too) i think she's one to watch and Kevin is a sweetie. I watch the 'It Takes Two' magazine programme on BBC2 through the week and he did impressions of all the judges and was spot on.

no coincidence that the male dancers in both those dances had very nice costumes on Lisa?
Agree with you about Rachel, it is interesting watching her dance it makes me realise that the specific techniques of each dancing style are actually quite alien to the body who has not habitually done those kind of moves. It was bit like when Darcy Bussell tried to do break dancing on another kind of show years ago, trained as a ballerina she just couldn't get the swagger and the whole body language of it.
Susanna's dance was sensational..and unexpected i guess i had pitched her somewhere in the middle!
My hope that Dave would somehow miraculously become this amazing dancer are disappearing over the horizon....he is funny, but it feels right that he should be the next to go. In years past when the 'clown' (and i mean that most respectfully!) of the group has remained over better dancers technically just for the fun /entertainment factor, I have felt it was unfair..on the other contestants and the pro dancers putting in lots of work.
I so didn't get some of the scoring last night..Julien was scored too highly and Sophie too lowly.
Sophie is my new favourite she is so beautiful and graceful and brought something to latin dancing I have never seen before..the judges said it was a bit of a cool party vibe but I LOVED that! perhas thoght when you are scorign and judging it is about the technique and style within cerain perimeters - perhasp ti as a bit fusiony!
Agree with your eye candy choices J-B, who is your fave of the male professionals?
He is very sweet, I have to admit...and he has a very attractive girlfriend in Karen Hauer!
For me, Susanna was the best, with Ashley and Patrick not far behind. Abbey does my head in and I can see her leaving earlier than she thinks because I don't think she's that popular. I think Dave will last a couple more weeks, then drop off.
I've really warmed to KevinfromGrimsby (my brother's fiancee is from just outside of Grimsby!) he is such a sweetie and i think of all of the professional male dancers, Pasha is my favourite. He just looks like such a darling.
Well, as far as i'm concerned, the wrong couple were eliminated tonight. I wonder why Julien keeps being saved by the judges, he didn't deserve it. Hopefully there is next week.
@PradaKat....Aww (he may not be conventionally good looking but he is very attractive to me) when he did that jungle style dance last week i noticed just how fit he was & very toned.Nice buns too!!.

I think Kevin's (or 'Krimsby' as people have taken to calling him on Twitter!) is very sweet, but others have the looks!
Think Rachel may go this week, unless she's against Dave in the dance-off, but I think he'll be saved again - even my husband voted this week and he NEVER votes for anything!!
I am soooo loving the glittery wonder that is Strictly come dancing! the quality of the dancing this year is amazingly good already! (in most cases!)
J-B I love kevin's talent.. he comes from such an amazing family and the guy has absolute class too, the routines are fantastice, but so far...nothing is stirring in me below head level!
So last night, the scoring really pissed me off again, Rachel may not have perfected that Paso doble but the choreography and routine were amazing, but the judges ripped her to shreds for not looking angry enough! she looked stern enough to me and no mention of the difficulty level of the routine and steps... i though it was a modern and quirky take on the paso. compare this routine to something like Mark Benton's dance, who i think they gave similar or higher scores and glowing praise all round? it was no way near as advanced or technical!
Also....I shall be so annoyed if she is in the bottom two and Dave Myers is not!
Still liking Sophie a lot, though think she struggled last night, I want to like Abbey and Natalie, but for some reason i have not warmed to either, though their dancing is great! My faves in the boys are Patrick and Ashley, Patrick still danced so well even though he had his wrist all bandaged up an Ashley did amazingly on only 10 hours of practice!
