I found an old school writing slate, and for some reason it made me think of Hal. Redemption Your slate can be wiped clean And gently buffed to a glowing sheen. But my stained and scratched Faded blackboard Has no inner beauty. My disgrace can't be erased. Merely painted with a mask, Not of gleaming whitewash But a thick, black, sticky tar. __________________

Hi anonymous, welcome to the forum. Thanks for sharing your poem with us, the writing slate is a great metaphor. I take it you are of the belief there is, and can be, no redemption for Hal? I am conflicted on that issue, always interested to hear other points of view
