I know! but I like him Damien being part of the up and coming britpack! He has relocated to London, or does work from London sometimes, perhaps we can call him an honorary Brit?
The article does mention he's Irish. I'm glad he makes lists like this. More recognition of his talent and good publicity.
Kat he's in the top quarter on age that's for sure but a couple of actors are older and one is the same age. There are some young'uns in there.
The only thing that irked me actually was them mentioning Aidan Turner. Damien is on that list by his own laurels and I guess they did mention fellow actors in the "Buzz" sections of a few others on the list. But I don't like it when people/media do a comparison act.
YAY Damien Molony - rising star! Articles like this just confirm what we already know
And Craig Roberts is on the list.

Our boy deserves to be there, even higher to the top!!! Pradakat I consider it a compliment to be called an honorary Brit I'm still Irish but that is an added bonus, I have been here a while now and that to me is a compliment! Can't speak for Damo of course!! :D xxx

whimsy I felt the same, the comparison is not necessary, to mention another actor's name is not necessary, Damien has carved his own deep groove with is acting talent!
HalGal they are a very talented bunch and all deserve their place on the list, but must admit due to my bias towards Damien I find myself agreeing with you!
Whether he's technically a Brit or not, I'm glad to see Damien on the list. I only recognize a couple of the others.
American point of view:
Irish/British = Canadian/American
Whatever.
I'm sorry if that's offensive to the Irish and Canadians. Most of the time unless you tell me or I'm concentrating hard to notice the slight accent differences (or unless the accent is really pronounced), I really can't tell the difference.

I agree generally, Jane, but the British occupation stuff is still very raw to a lot of Irish (and the British actually -I remember all the bomb threats and having to evacuate from school and shopping centres and things) so it's still quite a hot potato to label people in that way.
*Stops being so serious and puts thread back on-topic*
As long as he gets to choose the roles he wants to play & choose them carefully & not get caught in that " Hollywood regurgitates again" thingy then i dont mind him doing a Benedict! After he's worked in European cinema. I dont like the idea of him going there because once he conquers Hollywood he may not come back! @Random jane......you cant tell the diff between an American & Canadian accent?! (I'm not offended)

Anyway...how do people feel about Damien's career following the same trajectory as Benedict Cumberbatch? He has managed to straddle the swamps of self expression really successfully with television stage and film! I'd be very happy for Damien if that happened for him!!
Sorry. Not trying to raise a stink. I am aware of all of that and do know the difference. It's just that from this distance the lines tend to blur a bit. Please forgive us if we mislabel you.
Would I like for Damien's career to follow in the same trajectory as Benedict's? If he wants that, sure! Why not? I'd love to see him all over my Tumblr dash like Benedict is.

@ J-Baptiste - No. I assume Canadians are from Minnesota or Michigan or something until told otherwise. There are a lot of celebrities from Canada that I would never know were Canadian unless I looked it up. It all sounds the same to my Southern ears. French Canadian is different.
