So to begin. the first 5 scenes (20 mins on these!)
Scene 1: 0.00-01.18
Newsreader voiceover:
"Police have tonight been called to the trouble Greenpit nightclub. First reports suggest club owner Kirk Hawthorn has been the victim of a brutal assault"
Jack and Charlie are on the scene at the nightclub where Kirk has been hit over the back of the head. While there, another attack victim is discovered, the club owner tells them it is Kirk's sister, Ziggy Hawthorne.
Charlie suggests it must be a targeted attack, Jack replies
"potentially, we don't want to jump to conclusions straight away"
Scene 2: 01.19-02.09
Still at the club, Jack and forensics are in the area of the cctv camera, which is missing. Jack asks for the cables to be dusted for fingerprints.
"Charlie"
"yeah?"
"Is your radio broken?"
"Er, no it's not, and I don't know why you're screaming"
"Ok how can I get in touch with you"
Jack asks Charlie to talk to bar manager Guy
"He found her, go and chat to him butter him up use your wit, charm and.."
"is he hot?"
"Charlie.."
"is he?"
"Charlie.."
" I'm only going if he is."
"Charlie it's 3 in the morning, go and talk to him"
"This job
is fucking killing me, I swear."
Scene 3: 02.10-02.51
Charlie talks to bar manager Guy Ollerbury, who found Kirk and dialled 999
Scene 4: 02.52 - 03.26
Jack asks head of security about security detail for the night and if any threats had been made to Kirk in the past couple of weeks
Scene 5: 03.27-03.45
Charlie tells Jack she spoke to the hospital. Ziggy has suffered a brain haemorrhage and also a drugs overdose, Kirk's head injury is not as bad as it looked, he is groggy but ok for interview
And so we get our first dose of Jack sass. and potty mouth. When told there's another body he says "bullshit" lol Then the whole "wit and charm"
The first time I saw this scene I laughed like crazy over this. I did wonder if he was just tired and in a mood.

Yeah Damien looked tired and I believe this was actually filmed at nightime so he might have been tired and I'm not sure how long they did film these scenes.
I like that Charlie doesn't really take any bullshit from Jack, even though he is her superior. This scene helps establish how comfortable the two are together, their banter comes natural. Wonder how long they've been working together.

the banter is hilarious....
"i dont know why you're screaming" haha! Jack tried to assert his authority and Charlie becomes rebeliious, she is so funny here! "is he hot?" and is the "wit, charm..." quote a deliberate nod to Hal?
But this was absolutely one of my fav eps and I think in these first scenes Damien really started to find Jacks sass inside him. Scene 3 was crazy good.
Jozie, what I meant about tired was, that I though Jack was being snappish due to the lateness of the discovery (3am) But later this just proves to be a natural part of their working relationship. They have a bit of competition going on all the time.

I'm guessing the wit and charm came out of him instinctually because of Hal. Not necessarily deliberately, but definitely ingrained in his memory.

as much as i know the lines are improvised, they did have detailad plot desscriptions and a bit of time to discuss and think before delivering the lines, I do believe some lines Damo may have planned, even a bit vaguely... so i did wonder about the wit, charm one....
The dialog just seemed kind of random to me. Asking if her radio was broken. I never saw him speak into a radio. Her randomly asking if the bar guy was hot. I don't know. It was just disjointed or something. I enjoyed the exchange though.
