I made a thing.
I love it.

Inspired by digital artist, Anna Dittman, whom I would have loved to commission but couldn’t afford. Instead, I DIY’d it and surprised myself by flexing my portrait painting muscles.

Yeah, I *used* to be an artist before Being Human and Hal Yorke took over my muse…

Not to brag, but I got one of these limited edition prints when Sae was here this weekend!  Absolutely Gorgeous.  Of course, I have an original watercolor she made for me last year...  Sae, can I post that here too?

What do you mean "*used* to be...."?!  As muse's go, Hal Yorke is a pretty good one to have whichever direction he chooses to lead you in.....

Yes! Please feel free to post last year's watercolor Whimsy. I neglected to take a good scan of that one before gifting it! I decided I like the larger format better. Easier to get good hair and angst detail to fit in!

Thank you all for your wonderful and encouraging responses!

Domino - thanks for putting up with my lack of understanding on photo uploads! Obvious I'm usually just here to LOOK at photos!

CoraTribal - don't be intimidated! The more sketches you do the better they get. This one took a couple of sketches I threw away, a watercolor "blood" test and about 6 hours of painting. Halfway through I almost binned it. Glad I pushed forward!

fifi - by "used" to be I just meant that I used to paint a whole lot more - before the muse to write an epic-long Being Human / Hal Yorke fanfic took over my life! I still paint, just not usually portraits. Though, after this that muse of mine just wants to make more!

Here is a scan of the watercolor Sae made for my birthday last year.  She knows how fond I am of that particular picture!  He looks so sad it makes my heart ache to look at it.

Sae, just noticed it's not signed and dated.

Drat! Well, Whimsy I guess I'll just have to visit again! The date was 1-2 days before you visited me last year.

Thanks Domino ;) All the kind comments inspired me to buy more watercolour paper at the art supply store yesterday!
