Many ways, fan art is the same thing than any other form of art.
Difference is that you really think about that person, idol of yours or story like tv show or book, who/which touches you heart when you create something like fan art. There is always some people behind these things that touches your soul.
You might have never seen these people alive, you might not know them personally, but still you think about them and maybe you want to show others that who/what touched your heart and perhaps changed your life. Fan art tells other who are in your thoughts and in your heart. They are also way to communicate and bring joy for other fans.
His work inspired me many ways so much, touched my heart and soul, he is in my thoughts and speech and actions everyday. And I am fan of many other people, but still no one will ever reach the same "level" than him in my heart. Even I discover many people everyday who touches my life, but I think my heart got biggest place for this man.
He is fantastic actor, marvellous storyteller and amazingly lovely person. I think those reasons alone are good enough to for me to spread some DAMO love all around me in form of fan art.
I might not be a good artist myself, but I got world best subject. Damien himself and his work.
I have been making necklaces from dominoes. Dominoes were very important to Hal of course ;) "Resist the urge".
I try to make different kind of ones and If I will be able to print pics on silkpaper I might be able to attach pictures
on the other side. Easier to say than do, but I'm working on it
This one is painted with alcohol inks. I used decoupage gloss to attach the heart behind the domino and finished it with glossy accent.
Sides are colored to silver with permanent pen. H is stamped using ink that is intended to plastic/metal/glass/ceramic/laminated paper/coated paper/leather.
I made knots on the lanyard that I can adjust the length of it and added beads on the ends.
I still have to practice, before touching that double one domino...
I haven't draw much, but I got excited when I did find lots of color pencils. My first drawing of Jack one wasn't very good but I really like the result of this second one.
I don't really care that I can't draw so well, I have the perfect model
If I ever get any good pencils, I might try to draw Damien more...

Thought I could share them here! I was first thinking attaching pics of them in there somehow but I got pleased just to frame them. Perhaps later I could do Suspects fan art where there are Damien, Clare and Fay all together and put these under them but for now they are going to accompany my Hal canvas on the wall!

I like it too, when I first lay my eyes on that badge machine, that quote from Jack Weston came in to my mind.
One of my favorite quotes from Damien, probably favorite cause I think it's impro and his "stuff". Damien in nutshell I wanted to add this #Suspects in there cause it's food promo for the show if anyone gets curious what does it mean or where is it from
Jozie, lovely words about Damien being your inspiration. YES! I feel completely the same way. Something in the combination of the characters he's played, his inherent talent, his dedication to his craft, and the loveliness of the man himself has just struck a cord with me as well. I have admired actors before, but never been driven to create and write as I have been with Damien.

At work I was talking about tv-series with one man and saw my badges in my backpack and got interested about Suspects and he google it and said he actually would like to watch it cause it's sounds very interesting. I said please do and tell me what did you think!
Molonian/Damien Molony forum badges would be so cool. I bet I could be so proud and pompous with this printed on my badge or t-shirt while walking on streets...
Love them. And I'm reminded that I was looking for some buttons for my new bag the other day and I completely forgot about my Being Human ones from my triathlon last year! A few here have those. While I didn't make myself a donor one, despite donating to my own run, I did make myself the yin-yang one. I'm so putting it on my bag. Thanks for the reminder.

Forum badges?! What an excellent idea! I would be very proud to wear a badge sporting the forum banner (with the added bonus of being able to see that gorgeous pic all the time!) I'd quite like a 'Damiac' or 'Halcoholic' badge too! Maybe you should start a business Jozie!
Hahaha fifi! Well, maybe not a business but lots of envy for those don't have forum badge! I have already been very pompous while wearing my badges and I think I will make more now when I have so many good ideas!
