It's great to have some official confirmation that we are actually going to be able to see series 4 soon ! But like others I'm not overly optimistic for any more. Channel 5 seemed keen on it and did quite a lot of publicity but then kept messing around with the scheduling which is never a good sign. I don't think that it has got the credit it deserves despite the nominations it received in various TV awards.
Very much looking forward to seeing Jack and his magical crime fighting pen on our TVs again!
Well, I hope that Kara's tweet meant that there might be more filming, or then it meant that S4 is coming soon.. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for more filming, they have been getting good feedback and like you said Rosie they have been nominated for various TV awards.
But they usually film in summer, summer is already going and there have been no sight of filming new episodes. And I have to agree with you fifi, it's weird that now we get to see the old episodes and that Damien is spend time more as Jack than Hal...
Still I'm glad and I hope this will not be the last time we will hear about Jack!
Jozie - i don't think they started filming for s1 till October and then the 1st 5 eps aired in February(?). So they had a really quick turnaround for both s1 and s2! And the fact that the filming period for each ep is so short means that I do still have that little spark of hope that we could still get some more Suspects next year........though it is a very little spark!
I am delighted to see series 4 on IMDb, and with casting details for episode 1, 3 and 4. Fingers crossed for news on an airdate soon.
Usually Suspects airs with Celeb Big Brother, but apparently there is a gap this year between regular BB (which ends in July) and celeb BB (which begins in August), so will it air between the 2 this year?
Furthermore, all Suspects series have been airing back to back in Australia and they are now up to Series 3 ep 2 coming this week... so if the pattern continues they could be having series 4 by 22 July.... and would it air in Australia before the UK?!
I say look out for trailers on Channel 5 real soon!
Has anyone else caught any of the BBC's documentry about the metropolitan police, called (funnily enough!) 'The Met'? It's not really my kind of programme, but I've caughts some of it cos my OH has watched a couple of eps. It's an actual documentry with the police officers discussing the cases directly to camera, as well as the camera following them while they're working.....carrying out raids, interviewing suspects etc. But it just reminds me of Suspects sooo much. I had to laugh when a DS got some good news and exclaimed 'fucking result!' and my OH said "they've all been watching too much Suspects"!
I think BB finishes the week beginning 13 July...? and as previously mentioned, if scheduling for Austrailian viewers continues as it has been, series 4 will begin there on 22 July, if that is the case, it's unlikely they'd get it sooner than UK, so maybe just maybe... that is when S4 premieres here too?
(this is pure spec on my part, I have not had any off the record or official word on this yet)
No trailers yet on Channel 5 though, so I am intrigued as to what would happen if Australia got S4 first.. Or, maybe they will have a break in their scheduling pattern. Even if it is August, that is really not long to wait!

Okay.. so I can confirm, (according to Digiguide tv schedules that is) Suspects Series 4 is not airing week beginning 20 July, and Wentworth Prison gets the 10pm slot on Wednesday 22 July. Boo!

Hmmm....curious as to what will happen with Channel 7 in Australia now... I rechecked the scheduling for 7Two and it's Suspects 3.02 for them tomorrow (today for them!) I thought that had already aired. On that basis, they could be on series 4 week beginning 27, so that is my new guestimate for the uk too!
Is there any reason to correlate the Australian airing of past series with S4, or is this pure speculation. Not sure I missed something.
In my mind, I figured S4 would air in August, just as it did last year.

Wentworth Prison airs in the 10pm slot on Wednesday and is 12 Episodes long... hmmmm...... unless the slot is changed it either means Suspects 4 will air on a different night or slot than the previous 3 series (Wednesdays or Tuesdays AND Wednesdays at 10pm) or is not coming for a further 3 months! (yikes!)
Whimsy, the speculation is based on the fact that in Australia the episodes have aired back to back weekly through the series from S1... now mid S3.

It ain't happening in July folks..... unless it's the weekend 25/26 the only 2 days I've not seen schedules for. Which means.. either Australia get S4 first or they get a break in their back to back viewing. Looks like it may be alongside Celeb BB afterall... BUT what night if Wentworth Prison is in the Weds slot?!
Going by previous series, they could plan to do two a week, Tues, Thurs.
