Lol fifi, a bit cryptic good job I'm psychic and know what you are referring too. Leave the jumper alone.

Jozie, the digital programme photo is gorgeous! And i only just noticed everyone else's previous comments on it too. Nana, you're so right and I shall add it!

Did have to laugh at that top again! I still like it - I know I'm in a small minority

Ok he seriously must be doing it on purpose!  To counteract the hotness of the play.  He's wearing it like a shield or costume in case some women are waiting to jump him... they see that jumper and get confused and he can slip away...

I loved everyone's photos! grouphug

And I love Damien's top. It says to me 'express your individuality' & I think we all should! aww

So, I was lucky enough to meet Damien after the last performance, even if it was a bit embarrassing, it was also extreeeeeemely happy!  And it is embarrassing to put the picture here, but here it is... Urrrrghhh!!

IMG_9104.jpg

I have some other photos too.  Are you interested in other ones?

The lights for example! *

IMG_9090.jpg

I have more random photos but I guess just us and the lights will do for now!!

* Please note I wasn't actually hanging from a trapeze to watch the show, right in front of the stage, I zoomed in.  (Although I do think hammocks suspended from the ceiling would be a great way to watch performances.  But unless the ropes were invisible so everyone behind anyone could see... or there was only one row of people it'd be a bit impractical.  Sigh.)

Your pic with Damo is so truly lovely littleimpulse! thank you so much for sharing it for us all to enjoy, especially as you feel squeamish about it (please know you can always remove anything or share in a more private part of the forum if you feel uncomfortable) none of us feel comfortable with photos of ourselves i guess, but it is honestly a gorgeous photo, of you both. I expect you are still feeling the Molony effect after such a magic moment! molonyeffect

I for one would love to see any photos you'd like to share and I also fully agree with your comment about Damien's top! I also think if we want photos of Damien we shouldn't criticise his clothes or anything else for that matter!

Aww, thank you fifi and domino smileyflowers.  It was super happy at the time but I do keep thinking how I said nothing interesting then laughed when trying to take the photo 'cause it just seemed too ludicrous a thing to take a selfie - I couldn't cope with doing it which was probably pretty annoying since Mr Molony was having to crouch down to fit in the photo and I'm just stupidly giggling.  Must not overthink!  At the time it was just joyous though and Damien was so polite and lovely.  Feel very lucky, particularly since it was the last performance.  Not that any actor has to ever bother to do such things, but after the last performance I certainly didn't expect to see anyone!  But thank you Damien!  smileyflowerstoo!

My other photos aren't overly interesting.  Just a few more photos of the stage and audience.  After the play, before the above encounter of happy I went to have a little look around the walkway where you can see all the sets being built and such, so the rest of the photos are a few of that.  Did anyone else go up there?  It was only little (but you could see for miles... I'm sure there's some sort of metaphor you could apply to drama in there...?!) but pretty fascinating to see: I found it hard to believe there are massive warehouses like that inside the National Theatre!  But I guess, there are a fair few theatres and there are always productions ending and new productions and I think some productions may even share theatres??  Oh, and Laurence Olivier outside!!  And that box!  I feel like there must be something inside that box... imaginations...

Well, for what it is worth: http://s172.photobucket.com/user/idmen/slideshow/National%20Theatre%20May%202015 If you can't see the album, I passworded it as Molony for you to get in!

I definately think that a person should express their individuality......and god forbid that whether or not I personally like what somebody is wearing should be considered a criticism - I'm certainly no fashoinista!  In truth, if I ever feel confident enough to attempt a conversation with, let alone a photograph with, Damien I wouldn't give a monkey's fuck what he was wearing.....or indeed if he'd shaved his head, or plaited beads into his beard!  But I'm not a sycophant either....so I can't make any promises that I won't be critical (in the highly unlikely event that I should ever feel the need to!!) even if it's about something important.

Not sure I fully understand all your poitns fifi and have a feeling this may turn into a battle of linguistics, but isn't the difference between not liking something and expressing the dislike of that something, the act of criticisising? For me it's not about sycophancy at all, it's about anyone putting themselves out in the public eye which is kind of a vulnerable thing to do. For the record, if for example any of us put our photo up I would not comment on not liking a top or something, it just seems a bit.... I don't see Damien as exempt from that. That's just my opinion!

Apologies to the grammar police but apparently capitals matter and my password doesn't have one... it's just "molony"!  Hope this works domino... although to be honest for the little you'll see, not sure it is worth the effort!!  Sorry!

Regarding criticism, I would think we'd all be in agreement to say that considering any person's work in a critical manner is a good thing (let us hope we all always retain this ability!), but I don't think this extends to anything outside of work (other than perhaps if for example y'know Damien decided to start hitting supporters of his work over the head with play scripts and calling them slimy snails or something!!?!  biggrin)  But that's not to say it is wrong to jokingly comment/infer which is all this ever was I know.  aww  I feel like something serious has been made and 'twas only ever fun!  For what it's worth, personally I wasn't saying no-one should criticise as it was only done in fun, I was simply saying, I like the top and it makes me smile and made me happy and it made me feel like I saw a bit of an actual person's taste which I think is a happy thing!  I didn't mean to imply nothing negative should be said.  Sorry if it seemed that way.  'Tis all *thumbs up* aww

I think we are all in agreement in truth, yes? Yes! grouphug(I hope I speak for us all anyway, teehee!)  I think this is rambly (I had a little wine tonight, oooopsss!!)

yay, that p/word worked, thank you, your photos are very atmospheric! love the angles ... brings to mind the mantelpiece moment at the end *sniff* of Being Human (clearly got BH on the brain tonight!)

Aw, you're right, let's not turn this into a thing and I am sorry if you felt we went all serious on you! grouphug

Teeheehee!  Glad the password worked!  I have a tendency to take photos diagonally... photos are just more interesting that way than straight I think!  It's unintentional though, I just seem to automatically do that angle!  But it has been commented on before, oops!

Awww, I must re-watch the whole of Being Human sometime.  Although some parts are rather traumatic!!  I think I should stop posting now in any case... but I'm only slightly tipsy, I promise!! biggrin Night night all! grouphug

SO true littleimpulse, an angle changes the whole flavour of a photo, not just the photo, the photographer is more interesting. thanks again for sharing! :
