I thought it would be fun to begin a topic looking back at any Damien project from the same date in previous years.

 

On This Day, 17 February 2013, Damien appeared as Hal in Being Human 5.03 'Pie and Prejudice'

An excellent idea for a topic!

I still can't believe that the first time I went to Tredegar House was litereally about a week after they'd been filming there....and I had no idea!!

It's weird how it can seem so long ago, but at the same time I can't believe that it was 2 years ago??!!

Ah! I'm rewatching being human, from the first season to last, and I can't wait to get in to the 4th again (and 5th of course!

Yes fifi, excellent topic idea! Now that Damo has switched another gear this year and lots of new projects coming (2 FILMS I still can't believe it!!) it's nice to look back where it all begin :)

I was pleased but same time horrified, although, that pic where Hal is strangling Larry is quite hilarious. Never seen that scene hilarious but that pic made me chuckle :D

SO much goodness in that one episode! The whole Hal Lady Mary thing... the humour and the tragedy and that growing gnawing feeling of Hal's secrecy and denial... adn the implications for him and Alex...

The Hal and Larry thing... the fact that Hal killed him in a non vamped state, in order to protect the stability of the household... and so the secrecy grows...

And yes that moment whimsy, one of my favourite Hal speeches!

Yeah...Hal killing Larry was definitely a top BH moment!  I remember being totally on the edge of my seat.  Larry was so asking for it....I KNEW Hal was going to kill him but it was still such a shocker when he did.  I think it was the way he did it - with the lamp cord - it seemed so....cold bloodied!  That moment just before....when Ha turns back to face Larry with his eyes black and the tilt of his head as he turns....... It still gives me shivers.

Same fifi! And the fact that his eyes were not black when he actually killed Larry... it seemed like a new shade (no pun intended..well maybe) of non vamped out Hal..!

It's funny that I was so unconvinced about Hal by that clip on the s4 trailer.....by the time they showed it in the episode I was totally smitten! 

And its odd to think that this time last year we were expecting 10 eps of Suspects in 1 series....and we've now had 3 series, but still only seen 13 eps! (which is only 1 ep less of Jack than we ever had of Hal!)

Just goes to show that you never can tell what's gonna happen tomorrow!

Series 5 really was a bit of an emotional ride wasn't it?! ....still is!

I've got a horrible feeling I'm going to say this about every post - but omg! 2 years ago!!  I'm pretty sure that this was the last episode I saw before I went to see Damien at the Royal Court in IYDLUD.  I remember he said he got to keep the blood flask.....

This is the day I began to write.  

I want to put a happy face at the end of that statement, because this scene has been my muse and guide on a wondrous adventure. But it's been a topsy turvy journey filled with crushed hopes and pain, with a horrendous ending I'm constrained to bring about despite the wish it were otherwise.  

Damn you Hal Yorke.

Still, I wouldn't trade the last two years for anything.

It's definitely bittersweet whimsy, but I am glad you were inspired by the Sylvie story! You could always do the one ending and then an AU version of another.. Toby did say the show was with the fans now
