You say pay as you go, that makes me think of iTunes. Surely they would have it, and maybe Amazon, once it aired. Either next day per episode, or the whole season at the end. HBO shows aren't small, so I imagine they become available in many countries in those platforms where you do have to pay for them individually. Not like Netflix where it's video on demand with a flat access free and they negotiate for content. HBO shows do not make it there, at least recent ones like Game of Thrones don't.

It might be on Amazon and/or Netflix but this is another option. I don't have iTunes at all now as it is all pervasive and, not having an iPhone/Pad or any other Apple device, I decided to delete it from my computer.
I do have Amazon Prime which is paid for up front, like Netflix. This is how I usually watch Prime but I have on one occasion bought a series. One thing Prime does is have a link to several "pilots" which can be voted for. I watched The Man in the High Castle pilot this way and voted for it. It is now scheduled to be shown in a full series later in the year.
My god people are interested... it had the biggest twitter reaction to a DaMo project I'd seen I think! How much longer are we going to have to wait for news on this!!!!!!!!!
By the way.. can you all imagine a world where this already written, shot and completed pilot starring these fabulous top class actors is not shown to the public? That would be a cruel and crazy world!
Seems a natural thing to wonder, but according to James Marsters HBO went all out to make sure this got made... so they knew what it was before the pilot!
I confess I skipped to the good part, and now I want more interviews just about TDYK. Why is he the only cast member talking about it? Is he supposed to be talking about it?
Full frontal nudity this fall would be just fine with me, as long I get to pick the character involved!

My, my, my. Hadn't fully expected full frontal, but !!! Crossing my fingers that Robert Putnam is not pruddish!
So, that pilot synopsis/review had mentioned that the sex scenes in this would even make the True Blood people blush. HBO is looking to up it's ante, and one way is to snare Kenji Kohan - THE woman of the hour, and rightly so - plus introduce more risque material. The trend with premium channels the past 5 years has pushed the envelope. Sex/nudity in these shows sometimes seems gratuitous, though more and more it feels like part of the plot and is displayed more realistically and varied. 95% of the time the nudity is frustratingly one sided (DaVinci's Demons, Game of Thrones), but Spartacus had male full frontal, and not just of extras in the background, even some of it's main characters. Black Sails also has nondiscriminatory full nudity, though not as prevalent as Spartacus. This is an interesting article on the subject, how what is acceptable on TV has evolved.
Personally, I find it refreshing that things aren't so taboo. I hope (and suspect, this being Kenji Kohan) The Devil You Know's sexual scenes aren't there simply gratuitously. They are part and parcel of showing the story of how these villagers dealt with the Puritanical prejudices, the superstitions of the time, the harsh conditions as they simply tried to survive in the new world, and the nature of being human beings with desires and urges. Giving us a new perspective of such a turbulent time.

Not on HBO. And they don't license their shows to other channels or streaming services, as far as I know.

Is it just me that wouldn't want to see the Molony man bits on TV ?! The Molony effect is powerful enough when you meet him let alone trying to have a sensible conversation with him having seen his bits on TV !

Penny Dreadful (Showtime show) recently had full frontal male nudity, if only for a second. The character was a transgendered prostitute. So it is becoming more common on the pay channels.

It's HBO and it's Jenji Kohan. Anything is possible and likely... hopefully! Anything less would be compromising the whole gig. But to be clear, it is James M's character who is full frontal! The Pilot preview compares it to Game Of Thrones saying the latter is tame in comparison.....
I am kind of with you Rosie, atleast I know what you mean. But if Damien as an artist was into it then it would be fine with me. Only if it was somehow uncomfortable for him would I fell uncomfortable if that makes sense. Personally don't think we'll get it with Putnam Junior but I am hoping for some character kink.
What is the avenue for HBO shows to be shown in the UK? You don't get HBO directly, right? As I understand it, Sky is a premium channel, are there others?
I feel that if this show happens, there likely will be negotiations for rights for the UK as well since so many cast members are from over there and very popular.
Are there interviews or something for this that I missed? I don't want spoilers though! Always think it is best the less you know!! (If you can manage it!)
Regarding HBO in the UK, shows are shown on Sky Atlantic. Thought I'd comment though as I had never watched Game of Thrones until this year & caught up with the whole thing just prior to season 5... so then really wanted to see season five. Thus I got NOWTV which is a box and I think it is £6.99 a month. You can watch Sky Atlantic live and loads of shows on demand (the Game of Thrones episodes were available on demand even before they were shown live in fact if you happened to be able to watch them). I've found it great (although in all honesty it has been ages since I watched anything on it now! But when you turn it on, there is a great deal there!)
littleimpulse, Damien has filmed the pilot for TDYK but the project has not been greenlit (yet). We aer all crossing fingers / casting spells / praying! The interviews posted in this thread are from James Marsters who is also cast, he talks about filming and his character and hopes for the project, worth listening to because it is a fab inside view and we have learned a lot about the process! No Damien interviews yet though.
I don't need an excuse, to be honest. I'm pretty good at compartmentalizing, I guess, which means I don't get embarrassed at the notion of a nude scene. A character's nudity isn't the same as personal nudity of the actor. I'm more concerned with the safety of anyone's bits when it's below freezing and there's three feet of snow on the ground. Filming a nude scene in that kind of climate is treacherous! Let's hope whatever happened was near a roaring fire!
