The character of Han Solo is multi-layered. At first sight a selfish, arrogant smuggler who just looks out for himself but we discover in the end that he is brave, selfless and gives himself over to helping the rebellion. And we all know how good Damien is at playing multi-layered characters.

And Damien would love it !

Damien is fearless as an actor - his choices of roles proves that. New plays with no proven track record of success, complex, even unlikable, characters, the untried formula of an unscripted television drama. He's also stepped into already-successful series and made his mark. Being Human fans remember the 'Who could ever replace Mitchell?' worry. Well, he didn't replace Mitchell, he gave us someone even better. And in Ripper Street he was a match for more experienced actors, some of whom were in established roles with their own close chemistry.
The person who steps into this role, made iconic by Harrison Ford, will have to be undaunted by the comparisons. I think Damien is a perfect fit.
