I'd express my excitement about the project in my usual language but it wouldn't make it onto the forum. Let's just say OMFG!!!!! I want this to be a show, and I want Damien in it. Please, please, please let him stay in the cast from pilot to series!!!
The thought that Damien might not stay in the cast if (when) this finally turns into a series hadn't occurred to me either! That surely can't happen......
Discovered that we have a large witchcraft section in our library at work and was looking at some books about Salem. Lots of the place names there seem to be named after places near where I live so I guess the founders of that area must have come from the same part of the UK as me !
I don't know if this means anything and if its absoulate rubbish than feel free to delete this post but look what I found:
Any word from HBO on if they will pick up The Devil You Know? –Theresa I circled back with HBO just the other day and a decision has yet to be made about whether Jenji Kohan’s Salem Witch Trials-set pilot will go to series.
But we will see the pilot right? I mean, they are going to air it anyway and after that they will make the decision whenever they are going to make it to series or not... I think this is common procedure?
'Decision not yet made' is not a "no".... it just means they have not decided yet...and going back to the James Marsters video and what he was saying about how HBO themselves busted a gut to get this made, it would be extremely surprising if it did not go ahead.
It does make you wonder what they're waiting for. If they don't want to make the decision until they've shown the pilot....then hurry up and show the pilot!
In the US, especially on premium channels, pilots are not typically aired unless it is already a series.
James Marsters is certainly enthusiastic about this project! I'm sure everyone surrounding it is. I certainly am!!!! But I'm going to take some of his comments with a grain of salt. You just can never tell what the execs actually in charge of programming will do. There have been many expected shows with high profile writers, directos, and actors that never made it to series.
But, crossing fingers!!!! Cuz it will certainly be groundbreaking and galvanizing. And we need more of that on TV. Plus more Damien.

I think like Whimsy does on this. We don't see pilots unless they end up being the first episode in a series. Every actor interview includes a story about the pilot that never made it to air. It's a theme in the US. I want the show! But I don't want to get too excited about it until we have more solid information about it becoming a reality.

Thinking about the possibilities of TDYK and what might be in store for us. Filming in winter in the Boston area is no picnic, especially last winter, when they had record snowfall. There was literally three feet of snow on the ground in March. It was awful just to get around, so the logistics of filming must have been a nightmare. That much snow and cold makes me hope there was no outdoor sexiness, just for the sake of the actors! The male anatomy does interesting things for the sake of self-preservation in that kind of environment. (Get the magnifying glass.)
Indoor sexiness near a nice warm fire is another thing altogether.
