Here's a new Channel 4 press release with Comedy and Entertainment highlights for Autumn/Winter 2015/16 

Crashing is the only new comedy drama mentioned for E4, but there are a few returning series. Interesting that neither 2 of their upcoming sci fi comedies - 'Aliens' and 'Tripped'  get a mention...

I'm guessing these things are mostly shows which have already filmed and are ready to go for the most part. Anything currently filming might be in there spring summer highlights.

I thought Catastrophe was funny and it already has Irish characters (of course Damien has a greater range than this ! ). I'm also a Peep Show fan so would be amused to see Damien in this. For some reason though I think that Damien is going to be in something new rather than something returning. He didn't give anything away about whether he is a lead or a minor character which could have helped with our detective work. I would hope E4 would consider him lead material and Damien would want to progress his career.

Yes from the list 'Crashing' is the only one it could be, and it is definitely an E4 show so that narrows it down anyway. But with a TX late 2016 why mention 'Crashing' and not 'Tripped' and 'Aliens'? Does this suggest anything? My money is still on 'Aliens' or 'Crashing' (as Tripped has been cast. I think!). Both could ne filming now and the time frame is right.

Yes me too Rosie. And that is also my hope - to see Damien bring a new character to life in a new show is somehow more exciting.

Honestly, I was just wondering if they are the same thing. Why would a network call itself two different things? I need to read up on British television and the different kinds of channels/networks.

The channels with the number 4 in them are all run by the same network - Ch4, E4, Film4 etc.

Anything with Julian Barratt gets me very excited!!! But Damien was specific about it being an E4 comedy drama, this looks like it is specifically for Channel 4. Although the same overlord they are distinct channels.

Rosie, he smelled very "fresh" in TBOAA.   No mean feat, considering how much he was sweating.  (they kept the theatre at Royal & Derngate very well heated.  It was sweltering in the "artic"!) Couldn't really place the scent, not fruity or "masculine".  From his tweets, he uses Dermalogica UK.  If only I'd had time to hunt down a shop in London...

Thanks whimsy ! I always imagined he would smell lovely. I was too nervous to get close enough to sniff him at THP ! Coincidentally 'fresh ' is how I describe Flight smelling in my fan fic. Anyway....back on topic...

Whimsy, I remember asking you how he smelled. Sensory imaginings are important to me. Hal is clean but not strongly-scented; Flight is on point with the clean-shaven look so 'fresh' makes sense; Jack smells like whatever he was doing the night before unless he takes time for a shower. I wonder what the new comedy fellow will smell like?
If we get to see an alien, there are all kinds of possibilities.

I would like to clarify, I was close enough to lean in and sniff him (when taking pictures together), but I was a good girl and didn't.  I got a good whiff when he stomped from one side of the room to the other during the play.  The air was stifling, (60 -70 people in that small heated space) but when he passed by (it was so close in there his jacket almost brushed my face) he stirred the air. Quite literally like a breath of fresh air. He smelled really nice!

Anywho... back on topic... 

 

The depressingly predictable twitter silence has decended, so he must be busy filming. Wish he'd give us some breadcrumbs at least.
