Additionally reading through tweets, Crashing began filming 24 August with 2 weeks prep and rehearsal beforehand which fits the timing of Damien beginning work on his new mystery E4 comedy project!
A school was my original thought with Damo's FART Dept photo, bt as fifi pointed out, it could also be a hospital.. But Damien is not listed in the credits for Chewing Gum ... and he deffo would be!
It seems Crashing or some other as yet unknown project are most likely then. Damien seems to choose projects which are different and innovative in some way which makes me curious about his choice of a comedy. What is it about this project that drew Damien's attention ? I couldn't imagine him being in some standard, generic comedy series.
I don't know why, but from when we first started speculating about this, Crashing just kind of rang true to me. And it just seems to have continued to fit all the way through. I'll be far more surprised to find out it's something else, but (believe it or not!) I have been wrong before..... As whimsy said, it's odd that no casting announcements have been made.....and now they've wrapped! Hopefully we'll find out soon, one way or another.
me too! And I must admit to being really excited when I found those tweets...had to resist the urge to tweet Damien about it but I guess we will just have to continue being patient!
Agree that Crashing seems to be the best fit, based on our knowledge of the schedule and the type of show he might go for. Why oh why all the silence about it though? Not just him, he's rarely share-y. But that the casting was never announced for it?

Here's a piece in the Hackney Post (dated 15 October) about the filming that took place there - well it implies it is still fiming - which confirms it was / is 'Crashing'....
So maybe the tweets from Jon Zarych I posted a few comments back are for a different project?
And if it is still filming... Damien is now filming Suspects! But perhaps the article is not accurate on timing of filming.
Also, it says Crashing is ariing in Feb 2016 and gives a bit of an insight into the theme of the comedy...and how the locals feel about it...
I think the Hackney Post must have just failed in their research. Or delayed running the story until it was out of date. Or maybe they've been filming some filling/scene shots? But I'm more inclined to trust this......

My money is still on Crashing. I'm happy to accept that they've got the February air date right though!
Agree.

naughty funny Damo would be awesome Rosie, cannot wait to find out more about this!
fifi and whimsy, yes I agree, that Hackney post article made it look like it was 'still filming' , but nevertheless a fascinating read especially about the local reaction and those 'crashing' in real life!
It pleases me that we have something mysterious and new to look forward to. I think waiting for clues is part of the fun! As long as Damien stays busy, we'll have plenty of great things to anticipate. I really want to see how he does with a comedy! Some of the faces he pulled in Being Human are just priceless!

Meanwhile, continuing with the 'just for fun' speculation, Crashing was filmed in the Old Whitechapel hospital. Cannot remember how I came across this fact but it was mentioned somewhere online. Apparently there are tons of disused hopsitals in London, I had no idea how many! Anyway... filmoffice have photos of the interior here.
No corridors that look like the one in the photo Damien posted.. but .. who knows!
Also.. Amit Shah announced for Crashing - via his website
Going with our speculation on Damien's upcoming E4 comedy drama...'Crashing' is airing in the first 3 months of 2016! (still no casting announced yet) as well as Michael Socha's new comedy 'Aliens'.
Crashing
Written by and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Broadchurch, Bad Education, Fleabag), Crashing crashes straight into the lives and loves of six twenty-to-thirty-something adults living together as property guardians in a disused hospital. It's about that time in your life when the reality of being an adult kicks you hard in the crotch. This time you’re not someone’s kid, you’re not a student, and you’re not fresh out of uni. This time you’re a grown-up. In an age of unaffordable housing and sky-high rents, becoming a Property Guardian has never been so appealing, with thousands of people paying as little as £25 a week to live in unoccupied buildings in exchange for 'protecting' the property from disrepair. Just imagine waking up every morning in your own historic building in the most exciting city in the world. Even if it is an enormous, creepy, derelict hospital
