I'm so used to seeing the (and i apologise in advance as no insult intended) dragged through a hedge backwards look that he has favoured recently (where the hair is concerned) that seeing him neat and tidy (and quite frankly gorgeous) was a lovely surprise.
I think it would have been nice to see him decked out in a suit. He looks marvelous in suits. But I like that he feels comfortable and confident enough in himself to go more casual. Or he really just doesn't care...
The hair is just a tad TOO tidy IMO. But of all the event appearances on the Getty photos website, this is the sharpest he's looked. To borrow a Suspects quote, he's 'Clearly Gorgeous'

We are very luck fans. Grateful that Damien attended and posed for these stunning photos and for all the fab interviews, especially as he is mid filming Suspects (which is possibly the intensest shoot ever) and probably came direct from filming. It is also the first time we have seen him at an event with the cast and creators, so happy to see that!
He really does have the most fantastic hair, messy or tidy! I like that he wasn't wearing a suit. He looked different to everyone else but still looked 'dressed up'
These are some lovely pictures! So thriling to see Damien on the red carpet and that stage....... a film premier!!
I confess I was surprised that he wasn't wearing a suit - although he isn't the only one - but then when you look that good anyway......
I always think that a man donning a suit for such occasions is disappointingly conformist unless he's actually required to - not a trait which I usually associate with actors! And a suit jacket often looks rather corporate to my eyes (on the other hand - a man in a waistcoat......!,)
An appropriate moment for a Clean Break quote? "Do I need a suit for this?" "Have you got one?" "No"
haha, well said fifi
Damien looked happy and buzzed, this is what strikes me most. I am really glad he was there - for him and for us fans to appreciate these lovely treats!

Still worth posting even with the watermark - thanks domino! Although the placing of the I and T in the first one made me giggle (so childish!! ) That is once I'd managed to drag my eyes away from the stare.....
I know what you mean about the photo op thing Rosie - that's the stuff of nightmares for me!
LOL!
Agree with you both about photo ops.. vulnerable and exposing..that's why I think only the utmost respect needs to be paid when Damo does it and probably why I don't dissect the photos. It's just an awesome thing for us fans to receive and anyone who does that stuff deserves only respect!
It must be awkward but I'm sure, like anything, it gets easier with practice. Actors, after all, are used to baring their vulnerabilities to the camera, fellow cast/crew, and audiences.
oh those eyes... and that lovely crooked smile in the middle one.
I hope he had a BLAST at the premier to his first film!

That's true whimsy, actors are more practised performers for sure. And I am sure it is easier now Damien's has practice with cameras at public events - back in Travelling Light days about 2 and a half years ago when one of our forumers Matty had an impromptu interview of sorts with Damien at the stage door, he mentioned how uncomfortable he felt with all the flashing cameras in his face at the Rake fashion event.
But we need to remember that actors are playing a character and performing when filming, or on stage. Although at a public event like this there may be an element of persona, they are appearing as themselves, not in role. They are still just regular people, not that current celeb culture sees it that way, where all actors musicians etc are seen as a public commodity. I don't agree with that culture though, hence my respect comment. And of course we can't really know how Damien feels about it, this is just my opinion on how I feel about it.
Just having a look at these photos of our fave actor on the red carpet and getting excited at the thought of the possibility of more like this from the Tribeca Film Fest world premiere of Tiger Raid! *crosses fingers* It is only 11 days away!
