Fingers crossed for a second series with Damien! I am so looking forward to this - love Drifters, but the only one I've really been into in a big way is the Big Bang Theory (but that's getting a bit stale now).
Yep - I'm not a big fan of sit com either.....they do tend to be a bit bland and predictable, but when they work they can be excellent. I'm optimistic for this - 'quirky and intelligent' - yes! and I hope it does have the capacity to offend!
It is interesting that this developed from a play. You would imagine that the idea of group of property guardians living in a disused hospital would've been the starting point...and that the characters developed from there. So I think it's a good thing that the characters came first, and the setting - original as it is - was secondary....
I can't imagine that Damien would chose to do something bland. He always appears to make intelligent choices.
I was a big Friends fan too! I think a lot of comedies now are spectacularly unfunny but Channel 4 seems to have a good reputation for edgy comedy. Peep Show is on Channel 4 and I thought it was hilarious.
The location is a massive part of the appeal...Love me a bit of quirky property porn. But] the whole cast line-up is also hugely exciting. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is totally girlcrushable, huge admiration for her.
It does seem a bit soon to be talking about a second series, but there must be talk of it, or that would not have been printed!
Who is Anthony? "Anthony is this kind of brooding, cool guy, who thinks he has it all down. He’s got a place to live, a girlfriend who loves him and a job that he’s passionate about even though it’s not really going anywhere. And he is somebody who can’t make a decision for himself. So is actually much less in control than he gives away."
Why is he is the hospital? "He’s in the hospital because his girlfriend told him to live there."
What should be look out for? "There’s a very emotional sex-scene!"
What's his spirit animal? "A Shetland pony."
His favourite band? "His girlfriend’s would be Mumford & Sons, so he’d probably choose Mumford & Sons as well."
What dinner would she cook the other hospital-mates? "A really spicy curry."
Oh dear, that sex scene is going to be a disaster isn't it? Hard to believe anyone would have trouble with someone as hot as Anthony, but what Phoebe says is true, it is a very real problem for many women and I'm happy they chose to address it. (Even if it is for comedic purposes) My view of Phoebe has just gone up a quite a bit. It's not all fluff. There's definitely more depth to the characters, more angst and pain than you first assume. I just hope it slows down enough to explore that rather than just be one gag after another.

LauraLizzie, I looked the actors up when cast was finally announced and had the same reaction! Lol Though I do feel it unfair they kept bringing it up. Mentioning once was probably sufficient. He has nothing to do with her acting abilities.

Well, I'm glad they brought it up in this particular article because I'm so glad I know it now! LOL
But you're right, it's not necessary for that to be the first thing they say about her.
I think she's adorable and very funny :)
I've actually got in touch with Channel 4 via their website to say how much I am enjoying Crashing (and a certain person's performance) and would like to see more than one series. The reply was that they appreciated the feedback and would pass it on to the people responsible for the programme. It will probably make absolutely no difference to plans but I just feel pleased I've got my comments in.
According to the Radio Times, Louise Ford has joined the cast of a new channel 4 comedy about the Royal family, playing 'Kate'! will this news effect a second series if Crashing?!? Or at least Louise's involvement ? There is plenty of room for 2 Kates in 2 Channel 4 comedies surely?!

The #Crashing hashtag on twitter is filled with praise for Crashing and requests for series 2, @4viewers are responding to many of them, this makes me feel hopeful...
