Crashing premieres 10pm Monday 11 January on Channel 4. Damien plays Anthony in the drama that “crashes straight into the lives and loves of six twenty-something adults living together as Property Guardians in a disused hospital.”

Damien’s feature film Tiger Raid is expected to premiere this year and the anticipation levels are high.
With Damien (Paddy) in a lead role alongside Brian Gleeson (Joe), two mercenaries who “ride a wave of pitch-black camaraderie as they travel through the desert night on their way to carry out a kidnapping in Iraq”, the glimpses we have seen so far promise an incredible film. Sofia Boutella (Shadha) and Rory Fleck-Byrne (Ruby) also star in the dark thriller.
Story Film shared stunning promo photos and behind the scenes shots like the one below with us in 2015, we cannot wait for more Tiger Raid treats this year!

Which Damien project are you looking forward to the most in 2016?
Can I say I'm looking forward to all of it?! At least it's not a fiendish poll! Crashing is really soon so we won't have to wait too long for that one. I'm still very excited about Tiger Raid and can't wait to hear about a release date. I'm also looking forward to seeing how the new cast members in Suspects will change the dynamic. And of course I'm also looking forward to more cryptic Damien tweets in 2016 and finding out about his new projects!
Oooh! Something exciting over the next week....domino, you little tease ;)
You mean we have to wait a week? More good DaMo news, I hope! Really want to see Tiger Raid, especially as Paddy is a bit of a dark character in Radio Luxembourg, the play that inspired the film. So looking forward to Crashing, loving the countdown.
So what does everyone think is coming next for Damien? Crashing finished a couple of weeks ago and we know that Tiger Raid and the new series of Suspects is coming up this year so what next?
Personally I'd love to see Damien do some more period drama because I do love period dramas and seeing Damien dress up in fantastic costumes. I'd also love to see Damien do some more theatre this year too. Seeing Damien performing live is always a joy.
Love the idea of something costume - but really I would love him to do something mainstream and not niche, just to help him get established with more people.
If he does more theatre, please may he come up this way again. I love going to the theatre, the buzz between actors and audience is just marvellous.
It is a great question Rosie, so hard to answer! Damien is bound to have been / is working on something, cannot wait for the cryptic clues to begin!
History shows theatre is likely, unless something else has come along that would take lots of time. as we all know, I am always holding out for the latest Star Wars movie
As long as it is a main role and allows Damien to showcase his range I don't mind the role, genre, period or format. When we heard about Crashing I was excited by the idea of him being in a comedy but wondered how one tone that would be, delightfully it wasn't at all. I'd love to see him in more film roles, but I'd choose TV over film any day if it was the choice between a small part like in KYF or a lead role like Jack Weston in Suspects. A lead role would be a dream but an ensemble role too, as long as his talent is properly given its due. At this point in time I'd love to see him in a contemporary dark and moody thing..
TIGER RAID is going to fulfill many of my dreams I think!
And I'd like to see edgy.
Apart from that anything that fulfills his dreams!
Yes, I'm really looking forward to Tiger Raid, too, domino.
I want him to do something mainstream in order to bring him to the attention of more people - even Ripper Street is cult.
He has been quiet lately on instagram and twitter, I do miss his posts.
I do know what you mean Ellie, but for me it is more about Damien's role in a project. Ripper Street is pretty massive - BBC One! even since its move to Amazon its pretty well known. But Damien's role in it, while awesome, was never big enough. He does deserve leading roles. However, anything on the main UK TV channels is quite mainstream imho.... Or do you mean MAINSTREAM as in BIG?! I am remembering the Doctor Who rumours... thing is, Damien is equally and more talented than many of the bigger name actors, but maybe he chooses roles that keep him inspired and interested, rather than 'famous'?
Both, domino! I just feel he needs to put himself to a wider audience and showcase his talents more. He may choose roles that inspire and interest him but there are actors coming up all the time, not as talented but better known. Many actors start out by playing any part, then picking and choosing when they're well known. It is, basically, a job after all and you work your way up.
Apart from anything else, I just want to watch him on tv more!
It's way past time for Damo to do some theatre. I've really missed my annual trip to see him on stage this winter.
It's kind of difficult to imagine he's not working on something at the moment. I'm really not too fussed what it might be - just hope we get to see it!
I'd happily watch him on tv all year round. At least we know that Suspects will be coming along at some point this year...it's good to know that there's something to look forward to. And yeah - Tiger Raid. Hopefully 2016 will be the year!
Just been looking at the WordTheatre thread and I'd like to add in here......it's been an age since he's done any WordTheatre readings. I really hope he does some more because they are such a treat!
Ooh yes, I'm with you fifi and Rosie, more WordTheatre and radio readings would be fab.
Rosie, it would be great to have some closure for Flight's story.. and he is crucial to Shine's story. I've just commented in the Ripper Street topic here if anyone cares to discuss further!

I totally agree with this sentiment. He certainly does seem to pick atypical roles for someone in his age group/demographic/stage of career. He doesn't go for the straightforward "boy-next-door" or "romantic interest", he hasn't appeared in anything that I would say is mainstream or "big", and he hasn't been typecast into one particular genre or character. That's great! He pursues projects that interest him, he gets to showcase the breadth of his talent, stretch himself, develop unique characters with his signature depth. However, I think he does need to go do something big/popular/mainstream so that he will get wider recognition, so that he'll have people asking for him, so that in turn he more and better opportunities to pick projects that he really is interested in. Do you think Hiddleston has to go do auditions anymore? Cumberbatch? I'm sure they are inundated with scripts and just have to pick what fits in their schedule. Damien isn't doing this to "be famous". But we know his ambitions run in the circles of large blockbusters. Star Wars, Bond... to be in those kinds of Hollywood movies you have to attract notice.
I for one will continue to lap up as much of him as I can get. Theatre wouldn't likely be something I get to see unless it's through NTLive, but if he did something like Shakespear, or appeared alongside some big theatre names in something popular it would boost his career. TV always holds the promise of longer Damo screen time and a better likelyhood of him being the star, so that's my first choice. But I REALLY want to see Tiger Raid, and I want the reception for it to be massive.

Yes, I'm looking forward to Tiger Raid, too, and I also want a massive hit for it. There's a member of the Gleeson dynasty along with Damien so there should be decent publicity in the pipeline. It's an excellent cast. I really want it to go on general release soon preferably arriving in a cinema near me with a dvd release and oscar nominations for a certain actor (we can all dream).

With Damien's casting announced for No Man's Land and Suspects Series 5, FELL Short film and Tiger Raid coming soon, this topic is well overdue an update!
You know what this means....
IT'S TIME FOR A POLL!
What are you looking forward to the most in the second half of 2016?
First of all, I really want to see what happens in Suspects, even looking at the new promo poster and knowing what happened to Martha makes me count days and hours till it starts (it also means that Jack chats are coming back).
Then I really really really want to see Tiger Raid, I mean, since the project was announced I've been excited and after seeing the trailer I felt like my head exploded (what will happen when I see it???!).
Then there's short film, Fell, which I had to support because I found Damien from being human and even think about of the reunion of Hal and Pearl.. WOOP WOOP! And the story sounds interesting and again something new for Damien and for us!
And after getting my ticket to 'No Man's Land' I've been thinking about my coming London trip daily. No need to say anymore but McKellen plus Damien plus Owen plus Stewart = !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I guess I have to go with the No Man's land, maybe because it includes the experience of theatre and seeing Damien on stage again. Made my decision while writing this
