I'm loving this whole process though, Damien's name just keeps on cropping up, whatever the outcome this is no bad thing! The more teasing the better for me!
Haha! Now I read that and immediately thought......"'Dashing male actor in his 30's'? It 's gotta be Damien then!" !!
I'm very much enjoying all of the speculation too domino but I do find this article a bit depressing. How sad is it that the way to re-engage the audience....and therefore also increase merc sales(!!!) is considered to be by casting a fit young man rather than with the concept/storylines
I just commented in the chat! Anyone else crossing everything?!?!?!

It's so lovely to see all the support for DaMo as the next Doctor, he's a popular choice (again). Having deja vu to the last announcement, and convinced this time that it will be an actor of Damien's generation... ridiculously exciting and wish with everything it will be him! But also preparing for the other outcome.
On a side note, Mark Gatiss and Moffat are writing a new Dracula TV Show... so if Damo is not the next doctor I will be immediately transferring my wishes to that. Damien is chronically under appreciated and deserves the big big break!
I thought of Damien immediately for the new Dracula show too, domino. He needs a good, strong drama to properly showcase his talent. Woefully underappreciated indeed.
Yay for the first female Doctor and yay for the fact I have absolutely no idea who the actress is! I've come to the conclusion I prefer my Doctors "unknown". Damien in a Moffat/Gatiss production sounds good but I wonder if there may get be a reaction against "typecasting" since he's already well known for a vampire role.

Maghat, I just think the project would be perfect for him. I'm seeing him as Dracula, natch. Really, I just want to see him in a starring role in a well-received, popular drama. Something meaty. It's about time he had a role worthy of his talents.

Agreed! Although at the moment just something would be nice, we seem to be having a DaMo drought!

I think so, too. I'm getting curious. What does he do?
I was kinda expecting the new doctor to be a woman....and atm I really don't have any opinion on the casting of Jodie Whittaker. But I must admit that - despite my insistance that I don't want to see Damo in that role - at the moment of the reveal I would've been thrilled to see him there....
As for Dracula - Oh yes please. Bring it on!!! Not because i particularly want to see him play another vampire, but because of all of the reasons that Ellie said - "Really, I just want to see him in a starring role in a well-received, popular drama.
