Yes! We were all thrilled when 2018 kicked off with Damien starring in BBC Radio 3 production of

''Tis Pity She's A Whore' 7 January 2018!

"Compassionate and disturbing, John Ford’s great story of doomed love between a brother and sister in this new, visceral production for radio, intercut with the music of Jimi Hendrix and Nick Cave."

Damien played Giovanni alongside Jessie Buckley (as Annabella) in the nearly 2 hour play.

 

This was available to listen to worldwide!

The Drama On 3 was an extra treat because it was not the first time he had played Giovanni,

having previously appeared in the 2011 West Yorkshire Playhouse production.

So we were able to listen with images of his previous Giovanni in mind!

And it was powerful stuff!

Oh I do love a forum advent calendar!  It wouldn't feel like Christmas without one elf  And it's always great to catch up with the years Damo hightlights

Almost playing catchup already (a bit like RL!)....I'll have to make sure I drop by every day now wink

Tis Pity on the radio with Damien was a fantastic start to the year....and can't wait to see what else you've got in store for us domino.

 

Btw - the Damo in a santa hat advent calendar 'cover' picture is worthy of a window all by itself smile

Glad you're enjoying it so far fifi! Damien was Mr Radio 4 and 3 this year, we can safely expect a few more advent celebrations of that methinks!

Fantastic to hear these clips. Damien really does have the most perfect voice for radio. We really had some treats this year with Damien's radio work. I love that he enjoys exploring all forms of acting/performing.

Today's advent is a celebration of the next wonderful radio play Damien starred in this year!

 

The 2 clips were a couple of my favourite bits from the play

'The Effect' - A 'chemical romance' play by Lucy Prebble

28 January 2018 on BBC radio 3 (Drama on 3)

Damien starred as Tristan alongside Jessie Buckley again, who played Connie. 

It was available to listen live and on catch-up as well as podcast!

Agree Rosie! It was fascinating and moving take on the Easter story from the perspective of Judas.

Plus, it was pretty much only Damien throughout - what an utter treat to have our fave actor, Mr Radio 4, in a lead role in another BBC Radio 4 drama. And Damien was brilliant!
