I can't wait to see Jon's exhibition to see if I'm right that they are all pictures of Marcella!
Throwing all her future plans into question sounds very ominous. It doesn't sound like a positive thing to me which is making me worried! I just want Marcella to have some good luck for once!
I know! Will it be a happy ending? Will we have an answer to the will they / won't they Joncella question? Or will there be a cliff hanger ending?
Loving your theory on Jon's paintings all being of Marcella Rosie! Do you mean in a creepy / sinster way?
Or I was wondering perhaps that she is his muse of a love struck artist! If that is the case, it maybe an expression of his feelings for her - things that he has not been able to communicate all along with everything that has happened. Or it could be something else entirely... either way, Jon invites Marcella to his exhibition after previously saying he didn't want her there so something is going to happen in the Joncella area!
I'm going for the it's an expression of his feelings for Marcella theory, and from the synopsis it's deffo going to be a revelation!
Spoiler
Wondering about this promo photo we've seen of Marcella in the middle and the sculptures either side.. (are they sculptures?) is that what we're going to see at Jon's exhibition? Because I thought he said paintings in episode 3...
The double bill was definitely a lasagne and not a spud! Layered, funny, suspenseful, surprising, clever, beautiful, romantic! I literally screamed nooooo and squeeee at the TV! As always so much going in and 2 episodes to fully absorb, binge watches required!
Ahh, that was really great, romantic, funny and unexpected. and what a romantic ending I love it. That was definitely a 5 star episode. I found the drawings very funny and how Marcella tried to talk nicely about them.
I don't have the words yet to do any kind of justice to the pure magic of this episode or the whole series. But I do know I have been filled with joy and a wonderful glow from watching and not just that, because GameFace is not just the light and fluffy, it's properly good, quality, writing and textured storylines too! Wonderful performances all round, but especially from Roisin and Damien who totally and utterly made this series.
glad you have watched RJ! A beautiful ending.
Not only the Joncella FINALLY.. but then Marcella going off and doing her thing and Carewolves! Just perfect.
Aw, maybe Jon would love poetry if it was Marce reciting it to him?
This was my favourite episode! Jon's adorable speech about a bad day with Marcella is better than a good day with anyone else was just so lovely!
I think what I loved most was that unlike some TV shows Marcella didn't have to give up her dream of going to LA to work on Carewolves to get her man. I felt really proud of Marcella and how much she's grown over these two series.
Finally got round to watching GameFace! Decided to watch the first two episodes then one a day. An hour after I'd finished the first two I ended up binge watching the lot! Loved it. Lots of good bits but my favourite has to be Jon's look of sheer horror when Sally was reciting poetry to him in bed. I also really loved how he seemed to become like Marcella in the pictures, not knowing what to get Sally so buying loads of different things ( not his usual assured way) and also diving into the bushes when he spotted Simon at the cottage.
On a completely different topic, I love the way Damien is going grey - very distinguished.

Ellie! So good to see you!
Great news that you've seen the whole wonderful GameFace 2. Wasn't it superb? Thank you for voting in the poll and sharing your thoughts.
Sally, ha ha! She was annoying but gained credits from me for knowing Nicolas Cage movies Vampire's Kiss and The Wicker Man Or maybe she's just seen a meme Plus she did get Jon to disrobe.
The full body bush dive (as i have come to call it) is one of my top ten Damien moments in the series, added in my review.
That's a good point about Jon becoming more like Marcella. Especially with the bush dive. I remember thinking that's the kind of thing Marcella would do.

Anyone else have a Hal moment during Jon's doorstep speech?
“Look. You are annoying, and you’re tardy and make things difficult when there’s no need and you lie, and you have jalapeños in everything and then you moan about having stomach acid…”
It was the eggs in series 1, and "tardy" in series 2.
Aha Gameface was brilliant!!! This series even more than the first because our man was in it a lot more!!!;) RP this was my favourite episode as well, I love a romance and theres was a long time coming Any news on series 3?
