Well, to be fair his character was being sidelined, so I'm not surprised. That would explain his name being missed off the list of characters, which we had both noticed, and why he said he hadn't started filming season five with the rest of the cast. I wonder if he was getting to be unhappy with the role and chose to leave?
I doubt if I'll watch Brassic if he isn't in.
I hope he has something worthwhile in the pipeline - a good strong drama would be my choice. He's good in comedy but amazing in drama.

I have just finished my Brassic 4 binge and am a bit shell-shocked! Another amazing series, each ep is a film in itself. There was a massive tone shift at the end with Dylan at the centre of that.... almsot cannot forgive them for that dark cliffhanger!
This news is sad for me, but now seems inevitable, because of the series 4 ending.
I will definitely be watching series 5 - love the show and also want to see how Dylan's story is ultimately resolved. Damien did say in the Radio Times piece he will be in it for that, a little bit.
No point in speculating on why, it could be anything from personal choice (filming is miles away from London) to a career choice. Unlikely it wasn't Damien's choice, the show is lucky to have an actor of his calibre!
But we can probably say that unless Damien has retired from acting completely, there is bound to be another project coming along soon for us all the enjoy!
